Federal Energy Efficiency Rebates (2025) $79.6M
Who doesn’t want to promote energy efficiency in homes? The Idaho Legislature’s Joint Finance-Appropriations Committee (JFAC), that’s who. They refused the federal government’s rebate program that promoted more efficient residential energy systems.
By doing so, they not only denied almost $25 million to Idahoans in 2024, they passed up another $55 million from the program through 2031. The money not accepted by Idaho went to other states that supported the program.
As a result, Idahoans are left to pay more for energy costs for their home and local businesses lost sales.
Action: Convey your frustration with your legislators and JFAC members and demand they accept future federal energy efficiency incentives.
